Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using GrieveItNow ("we," "us," or "our") services. By submitting an application and authorizing us to act as your representative, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
GrieveItNow provides property tax grievance filing services for residential property owners in Nassau and Suffolk Counties, New York. We are authorized property tax grievance representatives under New York Real Property Tax Law.
Nassau County: Our service includes filing your Application for Correction of Assessment with the Nassau County Assessment Review Commission (ARC), conducting comparable sales research, reviewing settlement offers, and advising on next steps. SCAR (Small Claims Assessment Review) proceedings are not included in the Nassau service; we will provide comparable sales data upon request if you choose to pursue SCAR independently.
Suffolk County: Our service includes filing Form RP-524 with the applicable town Board of Assessment Review (BAR), conducting comparable sales research, and if the BAR grievance is denied, filing a SCAR petition in New York State Supreme Court, representing you at the settlement conference, and negotiating through to final resolution. The $30 SCAR court filing fee is included in your payment.
Nassau County: $99 flat fee, due at time of application.
Suffolk County: $199 flat fee, due at time of application. This fee includes the BAR filing, SCAR petition (if needed), and the $30 SCAR court filing fee.
All fees are processed securely through Stripe. There are no hidden fees, percentage-based charges, or recurring charges.
If we do not achieve a reduction in your property tax assessment through our services, you are entitled to a full refund of the fee you paid. To request a refund, contact us at chris@grieveitnow.com with your reference number.
Refunds are not available if: (a) you cancel the service after we have filed your grievance; (b) a reduction is achieved, even if you believe the reduction is insufficient; (c) the grievance is dismissed due to inaccurate or incomplete information provided by you; or (d) you have signed a duplicate authorization for another representative for the same property and tax year, resulting in dismissal by the reviewing authority.
For Suffolk County clients, the refund guarantee applies to the entire BAR and SCAR process. Given that SCAR proceedings can take 12–24 months, refund eligibility is determined upon final resolution of all proceedings.
By submitting an application, you represent and warrant that:
By signing the electronic authorization, you designate GrieveItNow (LI Grievance Services LLC) as your authorized representative for property tax grievance purposes. This authorization allows us to file applications, appear at hearings, receive correspondence from the reviewing authority, and negotiate offers on your behalf. You retain the right to accept or reject any settlement offer and to terminate this representation with written notice.
We cannot also hold Power of Attorney for any property for which we are acting as representative. This is a requirement of Nassau County ARC and we comply fully.
While we work diligently to achieve the best possible outcome for each client, we cannot guarantee a specific reduction amount or that a reduction will be achieved in every case. Property tax grievance outcomes depend on comparable sales data, reviewing authority decisions, and other factors outside our control. Our refund guarantee is limited to the fees paid to GrieveItNow and does not extend to any other damages or costs.
GrieveItNow is not a law firm. We are authorized property tax grievance representatives under New York Real Property Tax Law and do not provide legal advice. If you require legal advice, please consult a licensed attorney. For SCAR proceedings that proceed to a formal hearing (as opposed to settlement), you may wish to consult an attorney.
Your electronic signature on the authorization form is legally binding under the federal Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act (E-SIGN Act) and the New York Electronic Signatures and Records Act (ESRA). By signing electronically, you agree that your electronic signature is the legal equivalent of a handwritten signature.
Your use of our services is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, GrieveItNow's total liability to you for any claims arising from or related to our services shall not exceed the amount you paid us. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages of any kind.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Suffolk County, New York.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent update. Continued use of our services after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
