What is the Nassau County grievance deadline for 2027?

Nassau County currently states that homeowners may appeal the 2028/29 assessment between January 4, 2027 and March 1, 2027. March 1 is the current ARC filing deadline.

Important: the January–March 2027 filing window is for the 2028/29 assessment. It is not the 2027/28 cycle.

Key dates

  • January 4, 2027: tentative assessment roll and ARC filing period open.
  • March 1, 2027: current last day to file with ARC.
  • March 2, 2027–March 31, 2028: ARC review period on the County calendar.
  • April 3, 2028: scheduled publication of the final 2028/29 assessment roll.

Should you wait for a possible extension?

No. Deadline extensions have occurred in prior years, but they are not something a homeowner should rely on. The safest operational approach is to treat the published deadline as final unless ARC itself announces otherwise.

Official filing dates and procedural references are based on current Nassau County Assessment Review Commission and Department of Assessment materials. County notices and rules control if they change. Educational information is not a guarantee of a reduction.
